Garden of Five Senses in Delhi India
Garden of Five Senses was developed by the Delhi Tourism Transportation Development Corporation and was inaugurated in the year 2003.Various features of the Garden Of Five Seasons help us in exercising all the five senses of touch, sight, smell, sound and taste. The garden serves as the venue of a number of festivals like Garden Tourism Festival, Food Festivals, Dandiya Festivals, along with various cultural programs. Such spaces add life to the city and attract all sections of society.
Structure of Garden of Five Senses
Garden of Five Seasons is laid upon twenty acre site and is located in the Said-ul-Ajaib village near Mahrauli - Badarpur road in Delhi. Majestic rocks stand high touching the sky while others lie strewn upon the ground in a casual but a catching display of nature’s sculptural genius. Soaring stainless steel birds mounted on slate clad pillars can be seen at the entrance of the park. An expensive plaza set on the natural slope of the site invites you up the spiral walkway. Then there is an exploring vision of a troop of elephants made in stone regaling water bath. There are almost 25 sculptures and murals of skilled craftsmen and artisans of India.
Tourist Attractions of Garden of Five Senses
The garden is divided into different areas which are explained below.
- This is the main garden among the cluster. It is set up on the design of the Mughal Gardens and is fitted with a sequence of modern water channels and fountains. There is a sculpture of ‘a Fountain Tree’ seen here. Most of these are even fitted with the colorful lighting system that truly mesmerizes our eyes.
This garden consists of a large number of colorful plants with a pool of water lilies in the centre.
This garden consists of a beautiful arrangement of ordinary blossoming shrubs and ground covers and you can witness flowers of all colors.
Courts of Specimen Plants
In this area there are rare species of plants and herbs like the Kalpaka, Kadambha, Bamboo, Cacti, Teak, Rudraksh, Camphor and Arjun.
Solar Energy Park
This park promotes awareness in using renewable sources of energy. There is a display of two buses, bicycles, cars and a computer that runs on solar energy.
Food and Shopping Court
Walking on the spiral walkway from the Khas Bagh, one would come across the food and shopping court. The place facilitates to eat and shop and here visitors can have delicacies from different states.
There is also an open exhibition area where exhibitions and workshops are held regularly. Amphitheatre is the place that is built of sand stone and serves as seating place. The trail of fragrance will take you to the rocky bridge that also houses a sculpture.
Garden of Five Senses Timings Visiting Hours
The garden is open daily and there are specific timings for specific seasons.
From April to September the timings are from 9 AM to 7 PM.
From October to March the timings are from 9 AM to 6 PM.

For Children (up to 12 years) – Rs. 10
For Senior Citizen – Rs. 10
For Handicapped – Nil
