How to Reach Delhi India

   

Delhi is well connected by Road, Rail and Flight services to all major cities in India.

By Air

Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI), a major gateway to India, is located in West Delhi around 16 km southwest of New Delhi alongside Delhi - Gurgaon Expressway. The airport has three terminals - Terminal 1, Terminal 2, and the recently completed Terminal 3. Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport is the 8th largest passenger terminal and the 24th largest building in the world.

Air India, British Airways, Austrian Airlines, Air France, Kingfisher Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Etihad Airways, Swiss International Airlines, Jet Airways and IndiGo are some of the main flights that connect Delhi to other major cities in India and the World.

DTC operates low floor AC buses regularly between Indira Gandhi International Airport and the city. Prepaid taxis are also available from the airport terminal.

By Railways - Train

There are three important railway stations in Delhi which connects the capital with all cities in India through Express and Super Fast trains. They are New Delhi Railway Station, Hazrat Nizammudin Railway Station and Old Delhi Railway Station.

New Delhi Railway Station is just 2 km from Connaught Place. Old Delhi Railway Station, also known as Delhi Railway Station or Delhi Main Railway Station, is situated near Chandni Chowk area of Delhi. Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station is located close to the Sarai Kale Khan Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT).

Delhi Metro Railways connects all important areas of Delhi. New Delhi Cantonment Railway Station operates Luxury Tourist Trains like Palace-on-Wheels, Fairy Queen, and Royal Orient Express.

By Road - Bus

Delhi is well connect by five major National Highways, namely NH 1, NH 2, NH 8, NH 10 and NH 24 to the rest of the country. The state owned Delhi Transport Corporation and Inter State Bus Terminals (ISBT) in Delhi operates regular bus services which connects the city with major cities of other states. The major bus stations in Delhi are Anand Vihar ISBT in the east, Maharana Pratap ISBT in the north, and Sarai Kale Khan ISBT in the south.
