Kovalam Beach Trivandrum - Tourist Places Kerala
Kovalam was considered to be the one of the prominent tourist spots in India during the hippy era. Even now it attracts tourists from Europe and other parts of the world. Kovalam means a groove of coconut trees and the coconut trees along with the beach makes it extraordinarily beautiful. The three crescent shaped beaches in Kovalam are separated by rocky outcroppings. Visitors can do swimming, as there are shallow waters stretching for hundreds of meters. Of the three beaches the larger one is called Light House Beach which towers over Kurumkal hillock.
